6940

Due the big different start menu, it's called 6940. Though I am still unsure about this start panel. The black (opaque, no transparency) seems to break the glass's effect.
OMG ICONS :o

Scenes From a Memoria pt 2

...continuation

Build 4616 was the last Wind USER Interface I worked on. As I said before, the skin was pretty useable, but I couldn't launch. So gave it up. But before, I still worked on a new concept: the MEDIA Interface. Pretty much a blend of WMP11 with Office 2007, Wind Media Interface (WMI or "Damage UI") was promising. Though only few people have seen it, they liked it very much. Most because the integration Styler Toolbar - Window Blinds I made. Looking the screenshot, you can clearly see the top window frame painted exactly to fit the Styler Toolbar. The Bottom frame also brings resemblance of WMP11 (the shellstyle as well). The "Media" ambient was imminent, so explains the WMI. The Start Button was different, so did the Start Panel.
Wind Media Interface® Codename: Infinitum® build 999?

Fancy and funny but still rude for a Media Interface. The curious thing is that I had labeled it as Build 999x, since it's not a continuation from 4616. That was the last time I touched on Skin Studio. Enough of headache. ;D

Rebirth From A Memory - Starting from scratch_
Months after Memoria's last build, I've decided to open the skin and tweak it. Maybe to finally release it? ;) Also I had decided that I should start with no skins as base, since it'd end in problems. More Vista resources being dumped and posted, the more I got friendly with tools like Photoshop and SkinStudio. That REALLY helped. So, the main concept I had. A new will too. What was I waiting to start? ;D

*New Window Concept No more other author's glass skins, I had to do by my own. Got Vista resources and found a lot of cool things. Why not using them?

The new window top frame border is, definitely, WUI's mark. I got inspiration from Windows Vista's DVDMaker and worked on those frames. Though at first glance, the big glass frame ticked me off, so I literally "painted it black". Memoria 5302 (fun with Longhorn 5203) was looking like that. That was also one of my first wallpapers, it's called "Orion".

How happy I felt when my window frames worked! Specially the glossy ones (after some heavy struggling with the shadows). Done that, I started to work around again. now with other skin parts, such as (my always beloved [/sarcasm]) Start Panel. And that's when Build 6000 saw the sunlight for the first time.

*"Staero Lightning"
That was the first substyle for WUI.Wind User Interface® Codename: Memoria® build 6000

Basically I drew it for a new Start Panel, that would remind a lot to Vista (StAERO). Of course I didn't like it, and cut it off from the skin. ;P

It was also when I started to work in icons for Memoria. You can see one I made and used it on AveDesk, on the bottom right of the screen. (Hmm, the girl in the photo brings me memories...)

*Aeth 2.0
The Toolbar also evolved during this process. Not graphically, but also in the interface.

*The Present
Memoria is alive and kicking, I can assure you that. ;) The present is the blog itself, since I've been posting since build 6000. Working actually on build 6900, I'll post more information tomorrow. I really need to sleep now. ^_^
(hurts me to think that it's over now... I miss those times, they way you used to treat me...)

Thanks for reading and sharing with me this nostalgia. :)

But still some of those memories hurts in me.

Scenes From A Memoria pt 1

Wind User Interface® is nearly it's first release.
(FINALLY!, I can hear you saying :p)

While I am fixing major errors, I'd like to share with you some of my memories... :) As I said at JoeJoe.org forums, the whole project
is not focused ONLY in the WB theme, but it's a huge concept involving memories and other nostalgic feelings. The glass concept fitted like a glove to my intentions, brings me the feeling of good old memories, while a darker theme would input the chaotic feeling, obscure... Today I've found old pics of Memoria when I was working on it. Honestly I wasn't planning such big project when I started the WB theme, not even the name I had. Just knew I wanted something with glass... and yes, oh yes, something with resemblances to WMP 11. Through these months I fed the ideas with new concepts, looks like we're getting somewhere. Well, I like "betas" and "demos", original ideas, so I am sharing the past of Wind User Interface with you now. :)

Early builds_

*Original Base
Early builds were based in Longhorn themes and glossy themes. The original WBA file was constructed over the great ClearOne theme. Buttons, scrollbars and backgrounds, all from ClearOne. For the glass window borders, I tried Glass! 2.0 theme and Athens DWM.

The skin was surely pretty useable that time, though with a lot of ugly-unfinished parts. The Bottom Shellstyle was pretty active since that compilation, and it's a thing I am trying to drag to the final build.

The Start Panel is, with no doubt, my biggest headache with this Theme. Applying a cool Start Panel is not to simple make glass frames and input them in Skin Studio. It must fit the whole feel pretty well. The next image pictures very well my first intention with the SP, something related to dynamism and media integration. I was making use of Glass!
2.0 borders that time.

The 4616 build was the most stable build I got while under that base. Used it for a good while. ^_^
But yet, the SP changed.

*Aeth
"Aeth" is the name for the Styler Toolbar skin that I made to fit the user interface. Through the development, it had a lot of designs. Before becoming into "Aeth" (that is, how you can imagine, a joke with "Aero"), it was labeled "Dark Winds UI", because of it's black background. Though Memoria had a non-black version of Aeth in the DeviantArt scrap. The new WUI builds are bringing the WMP 11 feel to Aeth. The fast and intuitive were ALWAYS an aim to me. I guess we can have a faster folder browsing now. ;)

...to be continued ;)

Sweet Memories

Hope you like it. Girl from MET ART, wallpaper by me. ;)

Now back to WUI... *sigh*

...free

Got some problems with Windows, I am making back up of everything inside my hard drive, and soon I'll be formatting. Well, I'll pick Memoria up if I remember of it. :P
(of course I am joking, I'll back it up. :P)

...and after that, I'll have more free time to finish the skin, it's really close to it's 100%. I've quit from my Web Design course. Yeah, just can't stand with it anymore. Why I've quit? Well, for two main reasons: lack of interest and because of... someone.

'Nuff of bullcrap, here you go some Memoria Wallpapers. ;)

Memoria 6502 - New Glass

Taking a break of "streamed glass" to use some pure one, like seen on Vista beta 1. Worked for some hours on the new glass, got very satisfied with the result. :)

Here you go two screenies I took while using it. ;)
